Windswept,
eyes spent,
I journey my heart to the south.

Arms stretched,
clothes drenched,
I waited for you so long.

Amongst the pitter patter
and judging whispers,
my patience was tested.

With hope,
and trust in the will of God,
I faced every day alone.

I prayed for the day,
when you would be mine
to have and to hold,
and to never let go.

I prayed so long,
that I almost believed that day would not come,
living in indignant obliviousness,
my heart skipped a bit when it came to be.

All in a moment,
People, places and Time,
that stood as an obstacle before us,
just seemed to melt away.

I forgot the barriers,
and the anger,
and the pain.

I only dream of the good days,
knowing they will be mixed with trials,
but the good days- I pray to God- will prevail.

So in a breath,
and in an usher,
and a farewell to the ones who love me,
into the unknown-
I journey my heart to the south- for you.
